Gorgeous stylish place with so many great little touches! It was super warm (middle winter visit) with a fire and heat pump. Beds were comfy! The whole atmosphere was just so delightful and we just loved it!! We’ll be back for sure!

Gorgeous wee cottage!! Has all the home comforts. A lovely retreat for a mini break, a very peaceful and beautiful town. Very accommodating hosts who added lots of lovely personal touches to make the stay special.

Wow what an amazing place to relax and unwind. We had both our boys (one springer and one cocker spaniel) with us which we always appreciate being able to travel with. Neen had the heat pump on as we ended up arriving later than expected, lovely thoughtful touches on arrival, chocolate & wine, continental breakfast, milk, bread. It is great to have ample of heating options provided to suit your winter needs, electric blankets, heaters, heat pump and fire to choose from all ensured you could just relax and just enjoy when weather got a bit chilly. The gardens out the front were just lovely and I spent to long taking photos and admiring the local native wood pigeon that seemed to also think it was a great place to stay. Excellent good quality linen, and hands down the best shower. Book and enjoy!

Cosy and stylish, fabulous garden. Hospitality top notch. Neen as a host was very thoughtful and made our stay wonderful. Spotlessly clean and lots of special thought obviously gone in the cottage.

An exquisite gem of a Cottage

A lovely cottage, well equipped, well situated and with a quiet serene garden. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. There was only one disappointment...we could only stay one night and not a week!

Great stay at PPC

This property was just perfect for a family stay in Lawrence - great location, beautifully appointed and a stunning garden! I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone heading to Lawrence. The hosts also provided great ideas for places to see/visit in the area. Overall a fab experience!

We stayed in this charming and comfortable cottage for eight days (while we enjoyed Lawrence and the surrounding area) and would highly recommend it. The owners are attuned to the needs of guests, helpful and responsive. A lovely experience.

Lovely cottage

Lovely, well-appointed cottage with loads of character. The garden is beautiful. Lawrence is a good destination as a gateway for both Clutha and Central Otago districts - it is great if you can't decide whether to go to the Catlins or Central, so want to stay in between. There is plenty to do around Lawrence as well, including the Clutha Gold Rail Trail, walks around Gabriel’s Gully. A great antique shop (The Boat Shed) is very close by too.

Hidden Gem

Lawrence may not be a place many people would put on their list of places to visit but it is a cool little village with a lot of interesting history. The Pickled Pigeon Cottage has the most amazing garden. It really is a hidden gem.

My favorite property on the south island

Summary says it all, this is a extremely charming cottage in the south island. If you are lucky enough to stay here, it is a great relaxation get away.

Thank you to the owners for making this available!

The space is more attractive than photos. The host is very friendly and kind. And the space was really clean. My family had a relaxing and pleasant time here. The fireplace in the living room was lovely.

Character cottage, so cosy!

We felt very welcome at the cottage. Such a cosy country holiday feeling as soon as we arrived.

A log fire kept us very warm each evening and a heat pump was another option. One afternoon we sat on the porch and soaked up the autumn sun. So relaxing. The hosts were just a phone call away and so friendly and helpful! We really enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous house for a restful weekend away from the city

Thanks so much for providing a comfortable homely place to spend the weekend. Well-appointed and the decor and facilities were just perfect. Loved the historical references to Lawrence and NZ. Handy to town for the nice eateries but equally wanted to spend as much time relaxing in the lounge, dining or kitchen area and the weather allowed us to enjoy the peaceful deck and shaded reading spot!! Absolutely loved it and will recommend to friends. Cheers for the treats too!

Absolute delight, just beautiful

I loved everything about this house, so clean and tydie it was luxurious, beautiful kitchen, lounge was so comfy with double doors opening onto a deck/porch , fire was nice one morning it got chilly but also a heat pump if preferred garden is well maintained and full or colour with so many outdoor seating options, great bbq. Coffee Machine. And I did not bring a dog as I am a bit fussy over what kind of area they would be in but after seeing the massive room/ another lounge area I wished I had. Such a great house thanks for the stay

Lovely character cottage with great hosts

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at this cottage. Cottage is spotless, with excellent furnishing and amenities. Hosts were great, with lots of extra touches, such as supplying pantry basics, bread and milk. Ideal location for cycling the Clutha Gold Trail or enjoying historic Lawrence. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting accommodation in Lawrence or wanting a few quiet days away.

Very welcoming cottage. Cozy. Beautiful grounds - loved the flowers and birds. Well equipped. Many thoughtful touches. The heat pump worked fine but enjoyed the wood burning stove.

Doug (April 2019 – Airbnb)

Firstly, the abundance of roses, flowers and birds in your garden were an absolute delight to behold! My husband and I could have sat in that garden for days! The cottage has a homely and stylish interior - each room with its own character and unique furniture. Had a fabulous stay
